Information to all who are attending the dinner on 9th September

The dinner will be held at the beautiful and historic Munkholmen (The Monk’s Islet). The islet has served as a place of execution, a monastery, a fortress, prison, and a World War II anti-aircraft gun station. Today, Munkholmen is a popular tourist attraction and recreation site.

The trip involves a boat ride of 10 minutes. The boat arrives from a place called Ravnkloa at 18:00, look at your map in the folder and follow the red arrow/blue dotted line. (see map below).

On arrival, there will be a guided tour at the islet/monastery. The dinner will be at approx. 19:00.
The forecasts indicate that it will be cloudy and some sun and about 13 degrees that day. Walking distance from hotels to Ravnkloa is approx. 600 meters (10 minutes’ walk).
We recommend everyone to bring clothes and shoes that will be comfortable for the happening.

The local committee will also walk from Best Western Nova Hotel no later than 17.45, so if you’re unfamiliar with the road you could walk with us. We also walk by Thon Hotel Gildevangen (down Søndre gate), almost around 17.50 (Be ready).
About the dinner
It will be indoors at Munkholmen and there will be a barbecue buffet with one optional drink included (soft drinks, beer or wine). Additional drinks may be purchased at the bar on the site.

Dear Participants
Due to strike in the hotel sector we are unfortunately forced to cancel the Nordic conference. Our conference venue NOVA is affected by the strike in the hotel sector, but as late as yesterday they assured us that the strike would not affect the conference.

However, a couple of hours ago we got contra message from NOVA that they are not able to host the conference next week.
We have been working for alternative solutions, but have not succeeded to find an alternative conference venue nor hotels on such short notice.

Several conference hotels are in strike, and no one of the remaining were able to host a conference of 120 participants with our need for group rooms.

For cancelling hotel rooms booked through our registration portal, contact Marit Opøien at Via Egencia, otherwise you might be charged for the rooms.
If you have other arrangements, please contact the respective hotels.

Your participant fee and dinner will be refunded.

To ensure that everyone gets this message – it is important that you confirm by replying to this e-mail immediately upon receipt of this message.

We are very sorry for this, and hope to find an alternative date later this year to arrange the conference. We apologize for all inconvenience this might cause you.
